Purpose and Values

Our Mission

Our mission at River of Life has always been and continues to be to personally know the Lord Jesus Christ and to let Him be known. We seek to do this by reaching out to those in our church community and the greater community that surrounds us. This mission is reflected in our current vision statement: Our Community for the Greater Community.

Our core values are the foundation of the ministries at River of Life. Everything we do is based on these eight values that are drawn from God’s Word. These values are timeless, and if we hold to them, we know they will ensure a healthy future for River of Life.

Our Values

PRAYER

Communicating with God through adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication (intercession). Jeremiah 33:3

TRUTH

Believing the Bible to be the ultimate authority and inerrant in it's original manuscripts. 2 Timothy 3:16

GRACE

Valuing all people as God’s creation and loving them towards Christ-likeness. Genesis 1:27

WORSHIP

Magnifying God by ascribing worth to Him through intimacy and obedience. Romans 12:1-2

DISCIPLESHIP

Developing, equipping, and empowering people towards Christ-likeness. Colossians 3:16

EVANGELISM

Sharing and modeling the Good News of Jesus Christ. Matthew 28:19

SERVING

Encouraging every believer to faithfully invest their time, talent, and finances to build up and expand God’s kingdom. Luke 12:37

UNITY

Serving one Triune God, we desire to function as one body made up of people of all cultures with one faith for the glory of God. John 13:34-35
