Acquire the Fire: To Know the Mystery

Isn't Minnesota the greatest place to live? I was talking to someone the other day and said that living in this state is exactly what walking by faith is like. You know a new season is coming but you never know when or how. So if you want to know what following God is like continue living in Minnesota. LOL. Thank God we can always count on Jesus Christ, we may not know everything He is going to do, but we can always know He is at work on our behalf, an in Him are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. So no matter what other beliefs are out there, we will always find the truth in Him.

This is what Paul was trying to communicate to the Colosians in the beginning of chapter 2:1-5.
He wanted them to know that the soul prospers when we have clear knowledge of the truth as it is in Jesus. When we not only believe with the heart, but are ready, when called, to make confession with the mouth. Knowledge and faith make a soul rich. The stronger our faith, and the warmer our love, the more will our comfort be. The treasures of wisdom are hid, not from us, but for us, in Christ. (Matthew Henry Concise Bible Commentary)

This is what I love about the Apostle Paul's writings, he is so focused on Christ and what Christ has done, and I believe because of that focus he could have the strength and tenacity to write letters like these from prison. Just read Philippians 3:1-21, his commitment to Christ is amazingly shown in this chapter. He gave up everything he knew, to gain everything Christ knew.

Hmmm. So if you are here today and are being swayed by others in your beliefs, remember there is only one that knows everything and He is just waiting for you to ask.

Matthew 7:7-8 (NIV)
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

Just a thought,

Mike
