Raising the B.A.R.

Hey Everyone,

I’m very excited to begin blogging at River of Life!  This is actually my first blog so here it goes!  I’m going to keep it short and hopefully sweet. 

If you heard the message last Sunday, either live or by pod cast, you probably noticed I was excited a bit more than usual.  Well…I simply get excited when I spend hours digging in God’s Word and come out with new and exciting truth about God!  That’s what happened when I began preparing for this new three-week sermon series we are naming:  Raising the B.A.R.  (Be the church; Activate the mission and Reproduce at all levels).    

Last Sunday, I thoroughly enjoyed going through God’s Word, and identifying the “thread of oneness and community” from Genesis to Revelation.  It was satisfying to see how Jesus Christ took “oneness” to a new level and how He handed “oneness” over to all the Christ-followers before He ascended to heaven!  I also enjoyed hearing the testimonies of “the power of community and oneness” from Jim and Kathy Gessner and Darrel Crowe.  Awesome stuff!   

This week I’ve been “neck-deep” in scriptures dealing with the intricacies of the Tabernacle.  Such a statement might sound boring on the front end, but, believe me, it is anything but boring!  I should come out of the shoot pretty excited this Sunday!  Come Sunday and discover, from God’s Word, how Jesus literally turned the Tabernacle upside down!  That’s all I want to say now…I’m going to exercise great restraint…but come Sunday and witness “the ways” of our amazing Savior, Jesus Christ!
