Adult Ministries

River of Life offers a variety of Adult Ministries to help equip and encourage every believer in his or her faith. Whether it is in a life group setting or in a specific group, which offers a safe place with confidentiality, a Bible study, an equipping class or enjoying a special event, you will find a place to belong, grow, and enjoy relationships with other men and women.

Equipping Classes

In order for River of Lifers to grow in their faith, it is important to have continued Biblical instruction in a format that allows participants to explore topics in depth. This is why we offer Equipping classes to help you become more fully equipped in your journey to become a fully devoted follower of Christ. Classes are offered at various times throughout the year.

Our course offerings include:

Pathfinders

Join us as we explore the foundations of our Christian faith, the Evangelical Free Church, and what it means to be a River of Lifer. This class is a great foundation and is also your first step toward membership. Our next class will be starting in the fall. Alpha is perfect for you if:

• You are investigating Christianity
• You are new to the Church
• You seek to renew your faith in Jesus

Every week the groups eat together, view a thought provoking talk, a engage in small group sharing time.  This is a great opportunity to learn, make new friends and grow in your relationship with Christ.

Life Groups

Our Life Groups are on-going groups that meet in homes on a regularly scheduled basis with the purpose of sharing Biblical teaching, prayer, and encouragement, as they reach out to others. Groups have a designated leader who encourages healthy relationships with others for the purpose of making healthy devoted disciples of Jesus Christ. Click here for a current list of life groups

Men’s Ministry

River of Life’s Men’s Ministry exists to serve the men in our community by facilitating discipleship, Bible study, and accountability through individual, small group, and large group gatherings focused on men’s needs in today’s world. Our vision is that each man would be challenged and encouraged to grow in his personal relationship with Christ.

Our offerings include:

Women’s Ministry

Welcome to Women of the Word! We hope you take the time to look over all we have to offer women in our church family and community. Our ministry exists to encourage women in their pursuit of God by providing opportunities for both spiritual & personal growth. Our weekly Bible studies, women’s retreat & special events are intended to help women draw near to the Lord and drink in His living water. We also offer opportunities for women to pour out their gifts & talents as blessings to those in our church family and beyond. We invite you to join us! 

Join with other women as we connect through Bible Study and fellowship. This fall we will kick off our Monday & Wednesday Bible Studies with a few different choices. Whether you have been involved in past ROL Bible studies or are looking for a place to make friends and get to know God, you are welcome to join us!  These weekly in-depth Bible studies are for all ladies.

The Lord’s Pantry

The Lord’s Pantry provides meals for families or individuals in times of need including: new babies, recovery from a hospital stay or illness. In addition, this team provides food for funerals. Contact us if you would like to serve in this ministry area.

Prayer Shawl

Prayer is a source of comfort and hope in times of trouble. Our prayer shawl group lovingly and prayerfully knits prayer shawls for loved ones in our community who are in need of comfort. This group meets for prayer, fellowship and instruction (we will teach you how to knit). We meet the first Wednesday morning of the month from 10:00 -11:30 am October through May at ROL. The Rejuvenators

Webster's definition: To make feel or seem young again; bring back to youthful strength; or to make new or fresh again. 'Rejuvenators' is an outreach program for all 50's+ at River of Life and the surrounding community.  As a Rejuvenator, it is important for us to share with others how the Lord has worked in our lives.  The knowledge we have gained through experience will surely help others through difficult times or seasons in their lives.  We stand firm in a commitment to what God wants us to do and to help all He puts in our path.  We also gather for fellowship and fun various times throughout the year. Join us and get to know others and experience the love and joy life has to offer after 50.   Email us at rol@rolchurch.net to be added to our mailing list. 

Marriage Ministries

Pre-marital Counseling

The Bible says in Ephesians 5, that each person has a role in the marriage relationship.  Husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loves the church.  Wives are called to honor, respect and submit to their husbands.  A realistic understanding of those roles and how you each look at them, along with an open discussion about other very relevant topics in the marriage relationship will equip you to make your marriage what God intended it to be; a covenant between two people and God, with God at the center of everything.

Each couple will need to complete a minimum of 12 hours of premarital counseling. This includes 6-8 hours of class time, completing the marriage inventory (PREPARE) and 4-6 individual sessions with a marriage coach couple to discuss the results of the inventory.   Couples must complete the marriage preparation course three months before their wedding date.  Please call the church office at 763-441-7527 to sign up.

Marriage Enrichment

Come and experience open and honest sharing as we explore the ups and downs of marriage. We offer small groups for marriages at any stage that dive in to a variety of topics; from communication, finances, family of origin, to expectations and marriage roles.  Don't just survive in your marriage - STRIVE!  Contact the church office at 763-441-7527 for information about ongoing classes.

Prayer & Compassion

• Wednesday night prayer group - meets every Wednesday evening at 7pm
• Prayer Partners are available to pray with you after each service on Sunday mornings
• Pray for our nation and leaders - join us on the 2nd Monday night of the month from 9-10pm
• National Day of Prayer - Community Gathering at the Elk River High School on May 2, 2013
